We will be making a denim coin purse, you can start with a new denim or you can recycle your old denims. I used mine with a denim that I cut off from a pair pants that I made into a shorts.

What we need:
Picture
1) We need a denim, recycled or not.

Picture
2) Cut a piece of paper, size 5" x 7". Then place on top of the denim and cut around it.

Picture
3) 2 pieces of blue ribbons, size 4" x 1 1/2 ".

4) A zipper, size 5".

We are now ready to make the coin purse:
Picture
1) Fold half an inch at both sides of the denim.

Picture
2) Sew the zippers at both ends.

Picture
3) Fold the denim, the wrong side out.

4) Sew the ribbon to seal the side of the coin purse.

The ribbon will hold the denim together so that you will not get those loose threads after some time.

Picture
5) Reverse it to show the right side to install the slider. Its a catastrophe forgetting about the slider when your project is done and it don't have a slider.

Picture
6) Reverse it again to sew the other side of the coin purse.

This is the last step. Reverse it inside out.

And now we made our denim coin purse from a denim surplus.

We will be making a purse that can also be used by kids as a bag.

Picture
1) 2 pieces of cloth, size 8" x 10".

Picture
2) 1" brown ribbon, 1 yard long.

3) A zipper, 10" long

4) 2 pieces, round metal, half inch to 1" in diameter.

5) A salvage bag strap, check your nearest salvation army or ukay-ukay if you don't have one ready.

Picture
6) 2 pieces small strip of denim, size 1" x 3".

We are not ready to make the purse:
Picture
1) Fold small portion of the small strips (shown above) and run through the sewing machine. They will hold the round metals latter.

2) Fold twice one end of each of the cloth, if its hard to fold, iron it flat.

Picture
3) Sew the zippers through.

4) Align the zippers then put the zipper slide.

5) Reverse it to show the wrong side.

Picture
6) Put the small strips with the round metal between the zippers.

7) Prepare your ribbons, Fold it lengthwise then clip it on the sides of the cloth before you sew them all together.

8) Do the other side with the small strip and round metal.

Picture
9) Fold half inch inwards the both sides at the bottom. Get some clippers to help to held it in place.

Picture
10) Run the sewing machine with the ribbon holding the bottom of the cloth. The ribbon by the way will hold the end of the cloth so that it will not shred of loose.

Picture
11) Fold it inside out and we made this bottom of the purse.

Picture
12) Clip the straps to the round metals.

Now we have out finish project.
